Severe Pain/numbness in hand/arm ?

Severe Pain/numbness in hand/arm ?
So i am almost 38 weeks...and for the last week or so I have been getting the worst pain/cramps in my right hand. The pain starts in between my thumb and index then shoots up my entire arm. Along with that I get periods where all my fingers are numb  It is most severe in the morning and late at night.
I was told by several people that this is carpal tunnel syndrome and that I should wear a brace. I have a brace and it doesn't help. That is how bad it hurts.
Does anyone else have this or experienced this? WIll it go away after being pregnant? Any suggestion on how to cope with the pain?

I have it too. The only difference between you and me is that my fingers are always numb. I have learned to live with it and block it out. It hurts a lot sometimes, but I was told by my OB that it will get better after the birth. I'm just waiting for that relief.

I have heard that the braces really don't worry, especially during pregnancy. The good news is that it will disappear after the baby is born....I have written on here before about a cream sold at Whole Foods called Topricin. I SWEAR it works, go try it!

at night my fingers get stiff so bad that when I try to make a fist I cant But only at night by the time I am ready to leave for work I am ok

This is how i feel also!!!! and i am only 32 wks... Putting my wrists under hot water sometimes helps...
