I posted this on Families as well...

How many recipes do you rotate before you eat the same thing for dinner again?

TIA

Re: What do you cook for dinner?

I cook usually 5-6 times a week. I like to usually do dinner out on a Friday evening or Sat night. Sunday - Thursday, I most likely cook meals.
It gets hard some times to think of what to cook, because there is only so many basic recipes for chicken, beef, or pork. Most often I can get away with 2 weeks before repeating a dish. Good thing for me as well though, is DH loves leftovers. So sometimes I can get away with making one meal and having it for two nights. He doesn't really mind, so neither do I.
My basic dishes are:
Anything Italian:
Chicken Parm, Eggplant Parm, Spagetti / meatballs, Baked Ziti. It is easy for me after making a large pot of sauce. I can get so many meals out of one pot of sauce.
Chop Meat:
Meatloaf with patatoes
Taco's with rice
Hamburgers with Fries
Pork:
Grilled pork chops with BBQ sauce, with some kind of patatoe or rice side
Shake & Bake pork chops
Pork loan roasted, eat with apple sauce and some kind of side dish
Chicken:
Fajaita's with spanish rice
chicken with artecoke hearts over white rice
Chicken cordon blue with rice and corn
Baked chicken breast, marinated with italian dressing, served with baked patatoe.
Fried Chicken served cold with cold salads (macaroni, patatoe)
Chicken cutlets served with homemade Mac & cheese and biscotts.
Steak:
Chuck steaks on the grill
Marinated teryoki Skirt Steaks done up on the grill.
T-bone steaks broiled in oven.

These are most of the basics. Some times I get a new recipe and take the time to make it. Just to keep it interesting I guess. I like to cook and DH loves to eat, so we are a good match. Chat Icon

Re: What do you cook for dinner?

I try to cook 5 to 6 days a week. Usually on Sundays I like to cook something that I can eat that day and freeze the leftovers for a lazy night. So I will cook a pot of sauce, chili, some type of soup, eggplant parm.

Pork loins
Honey Mustard Beer Pork Roast
Rotissarie Pork Roast stuffed with garlic and rosemary

Pork Chops
Fried
Marinated in Teryaki, mustard, soy, garlic, s&p and grilled
parmesean and sage crusted
pan seared

Chicken Cutlets
Piccata
Fried
with artichokes, peppers and sundried tomatoes
with leeks from Rachael Ray
and a million other ways I usually go online an find a new recipe

I also love to make pastas, steaks, all types of fresh veggies. I also love to use my wok. Although, lately I am loving my Ronco Rotisserie.

Re: What do you cook for dinner?

Usually it's about 3 times a week...and DH is so picky so it's hard to come up with different things.

Most times it's grilled chicken with vegetables or baked pork chops...steaks with salads...
