Newport, RI
Do you think this would be a good weekend getaway in late October or early December? Any other recomendation is appreciated - has to be in driving distance
TIA

Re: Newport, RI
October would be good, but I think December would be too cold to walk around comfortably. All we did was walk around the town outside and walk along the mansion walk, and it would be freezing in December!

Late October would be good, I think early December it's too cold. Unless you don't mind that.

I went to Newport with my husband and son this summer, and we loved it. I think October will be beautiful.

Re: Newport, RI
Fall and winter up there will be beautiful. The main mansions will be open, but some of the smaller ones will b closed for season.

This is where we are staying next weekend! I am so excited to go. I think that October is a better time to go, December will probably be too cold!

Re: Newport, RI
The Bliss Inn has a high rating on trip advisor. We almost went with them - sounded very nice - and it isn't on the main street - it's near the Mansions. I'd look into that one.

Re: Newport, RI
Oct would be perfect... we were there in the summer and loved it-
we went back last weekend for the Taste of Rhode Island Food Festival and we did a sailboat tour- had a great time...
and we plan to go back in two weeks- because they are having a seafood festival- it will be mid oct at that point.
