Anyone have long hair with lots of layers?

I'm getting highlights in a few weeks so I figured I'd get a haircut soon as well. I have hair down to the band of my bra, and it's wavy. I had long layers before, but now I'm thinking of shorter, more noticeable layers. I still want long hair though. Anyone have this?

My layers are long and I need the style short layers will offer.

I have long hair with long layers and shorter layers towards the front... this is the pic I brought my hair lady 2 years ago.. everytime I've gotten it cut since then, it's a variation on this cut.. i have longer side bangs and I wear my hair straight most of the time.. lately it've been making it wavy though.... basically because I am to lazy to dry it so I put it in a wet bun.. when I take it out, it's wavy..
