My SIL is...
1CM dilated...She can probably be that way for a little while right?
She;'s not due until Dec. 9th. Dr.s told her shes going early
How long were you 1cm?

I'm not sure how long it will take. My water started leaking and I had to be induced and I progressed very quickly. Even the dr couldn't believe how fast.

It varies with every pregnancy. You can be 1cm dialated for weeks. I went to the dr on a Monday and wasn't dialated. By Wednesday I showed up at the hospital 5 cm.

I was close to 1cm dilated at 37 weeks and I was overdue. Tell her not to get too excited. I think being effaced means a little bit more than dilation at this point as far as how quickly things may move along.
