Those that have been through Quality Review this year...
How was it? What were the reviewers focused on?

Ours is in two weeks. But, I was told that they are focusing on how data drives instruction, differentiated instruction and intergrating arts into the curriculum. If it's anything like last year, it's not really a big deal, for teachers at least.

I went through it last year...I made myself sick about it...literally!
The man who came was this nice old English man...barely looked at my data notebook and wasn't going through everything in my room. He didn't ask my kids questions either...it was not bad at all!

I haven't done it this year yet. Ours was last May.
My school emphasized data too. But I seem to recall that our reviewer didn't really look at them. At this point in the year, you won't have much, the things they may look at are the baseline writing pieces and any kind of early reading assessments you did.
What I liked about the Quality Review, compared to similar evaluatins, was that it wasn't conducted by Superintendents and their lackeys (who were ALWAYS critical in a mean way and never looked at the positives) but outsiders who were constructive and fair in their criticism.

Hey,
Yeah I was one of the lucky chosen ones I was not happy about that. He really didnt even look at my walls. Looked at what the kids were doing but asked no questions at all. He actually followed us to the next period which was dance and the dance teacher was 45 minutes late so I was looked at for how I was keeping them busy and that really pi$$ed me off because she was late!

we had ours already this year and they visitied my room. he seemed to be looking at everything including my charts and bulletin boards, what the kids were doing and saying, what i was doing and saying. at one point he was watching over my shoulder. the big focus seemed to be how data drives instruction and differentiation of instruction.

had it, this year and last year. The focus was DATA, DATA, DATA. How we use it to drive our instruction.

YES..but they are all British I believe...which is odd. This man was the nicest man ever. One of my little boys insisted he was the President because he was wearing a three piece suit
