Ok...here's the deal...
Went to the dr. this morning and I am STILL dilated 3-4cm (this is the 3rd week)  .
My dr. is amazed that I have not gone into labor...but, wants to induce me if I do not go on my own by Saturday. Reason being is because of the Group B strep...they just don't want to take any chances.
As much as I am sooo excited that by Saturday I'll be a mommy  ...I'm kinda nervous because of all the things on the other thread about longer and more painful labors, etc... .
I do still have a good chance of going on my own in the next 2 days though...
Wish me luck and keep sending those labor vibes!!!!

Are you getting an epidural? If so - then I wouldn't worry as much about getting induced. I was stuck at 1 cm for 8 hours so I got petocin and an epidural!!!

I was induced and I barely had any pain. I received an epidural at 3 cm. If you're getting an epidural, I think you'll be ok. Good luck to you!

Yes, I plan on getting an epidural...told them at pre-registration. Can you please explain what you mean when you say...I wouldn't worry as much about getting induced if I get the epidural...I feel like an idiot because I know nothing about this stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well from what I was told at the hospital - when you get meds like petocin to induce you (or expedite labor) - it causes more intense contractions, but if you have an epi - it doesn't matter cause you won't feel it anyway!!

Your body may very well go into labor before being induced. I was supposed to be induced on a Wed and went into labor Tues morning.

My gut tells me its going to happen on its own for you. Why are they so worried about the group B? I had it but you only need a minimum of one dose in before you deliver. Do they think your labor will be less than 4 hours because its dosed every 4 hours. I got 2 doses with my labor.

Hey Jen I'm an L&D nurse and based on my experience the hardest part when we induce patients is getting them to 4cm which you've already done on your own. I wouldn't sweat it too much it should go quickly. Wishing you <smooth labor vibes>

Don't be nervous about being induced. I went in on Monday night at about 7pm, they started the cervadil around 8:30, the pitocin around 9am Tuesday and I had Sarah at 5:20pm Tuesday. I was put on the epidural around noon so it wasn't that bad at all.
ETA: I was only about 2cm dialated when I went in.

Ive heard alot of great stories about women starting petocin and then getting the epi...nice quick, easy and painless deliveries for you!!!

Try not to be too worried! No matter how it works out you'll have your baby once it's done and it'll all be worth it in the long run.

Thank you so much everyone!!! I'm feeling a little more relieved...I just can't help but worry over everything...so, this, of course, makes me a bit nervous. But, hearing these stories about "quick and easy" deliveries has me psyched because I'm almost already at 4 cm...so, hopefully I'll at least get lucky with that!!!
