we don't really do many because dinner is sooo much...but what we do have are really random ones that my grandmother used to do, so we keep up the traditions...
a bowl of nuts with the cracker
celery with cream cheese and crushed walnuts on top
dates stuffed with walnuts and rolled in sugar
cheese and crackers
shrimp cocktail

I have assorted cheeses, and of course cocktail weenies at DH's request. Veggies with Hummus.

I'm making a stromboli (homemade and delicious!), mozzarella sticks and pigs in a blanket (homemade as well). That's my job to bring to my IL's house...as well as a pumpkin bread.

we are doing shrimp cocktail, pigs in a blanket ( dhs only request) cheese and crackers, spinach dip, crudite...all easy stuff

ok.....REALLY REALLY GOOD QUICK APP.
You'll need:
Aluoette Garlic and Herb Cheese spread
Salami
preztel sticks (small ones)
sun dried tomatoes- sliced ones
spread the cheese spread on the salami, place about 3 sundried tomatoes on top of the cheese....place preztel stick on the edge of one side...and roll!!!
SO FREAKIN GOOD!!
make them about a half hour before guests arrive and don't refrigerate b/c they become a little soggy.
also there is a really good artichoke recipe on the back on liptons onion mix that I'm making.

We always have baked brie in dough with cranberries in it, my sister gets this at Trader Joe's and I make spinach artichoke dip and crackers. We have so much food, so this is all we have as an appetizer. HTH
