Need some advice (esp. city teachers)
I concluded today that I hate my school. I am so fed up with the lack of leadership, the lack of materials, the overall tone of the school. It used to be so much better, and I have to say that there was a time when I loved my school.
My dilemma is this: I want to have another baby soon, and even though I have tenure in NYC and plan to stay in NYC, I worry that it would put me in a negative light to get a new job and then take maternity leave not long after. Seniority in NYC means nothing now, so I really could find myself without a regular position. But I am so angry and frustrated all the time. I don't know what to do.

Don't worry about the DOE--your job will be there. You have the right to a position for 5 years. Even if they don't take you back at your school, it could be a blessing!
