Good Snack prior to going to gym
is there anything i could snack on...esp like a mini pick me up?
I do lunch at 1pm so at 5pm is gym time.....major break in between.

Something with some protein and carb- An apple and a slice of low fat cheese or celery and peanut butter and raisins.

I agree! If I eat early and then work out, I'll eat a banana about 1/2 an hour before I work out. It totally fills me up and gives me energy.

you should have about 200 to 300 calories as a snack-- especially if you are going to workout shortly.
Some options are: - Zone Bar - 1 Slice Whole Wheat Bread w/ Peanut Butter - Handful of almonds and a piece of fruit - 1 cup of dry cereal-- rich with fiber and protein (I like Go Lean), with a piece of fruit, or soy milk

If you have means to a belnder... something I love to do is throw in some ice, strawberries and a little protein powder..
