Gym Sneakers!
I need new gym sneakers! What brand do you wear?
I mostly need them for step aerobics!!

I run the treadmill a lot, so I like New Balance for the support and comfort.

I've tried a number of brands and I like New Balance the best - followed by Asics and Saucony.

I only wear new balance. My dad had to have both hips replaced and when he spoke w/ his orthepedic shoe guy he told my dad to tell us we should all be wearing NB. We live over 2 hours away from the guy and he knows my dad well so we know he wasn't telling him that just to make $$$ off of him. I find their shoes really comfortable. Dh wears them too and runs in his all the time and finds them to be really comfortable as well.

I prefer Adidas. The arch supports are really good and don't wear out. I haven't had as good luck with other brands.

You need to get sneakers that are fitted to the shape of your foot and your stride. Go to a good athletics store and they should be able to fit you.
For example, I have very high arches and supinate (roll outward) with my stride. What shoes work for me won't work for people with normal arches or flat feet or who over-pronate.
I realize this isn't AS important in step aerobics as it is in running, but it can make a huge difference. I was working out in the wrong shoes for a long time. The right pair made all the difference!

try them out though. Every foot and arch is different.
For step it's recommended to go with aerobic shoes that offer ankle support.
However, I have been teaching aerobics for over 8 years and don't care for aerobic shoes. the majority of the time I wear x-cross trainers or running sneakers.
