CUPCAKE question
So I am going to make a boatload of cupcakes for my dd's 1st birthday party. What type of icing would you use? Frosting? Buttercream? etc
I am clueless

Really...anything goes on cupcakes. Use what you like.
I usually buy the whipped frosting and put it into my frosting gun with a funky tip. Then in a spiral motion, I squirt on the frosting.
Looks very professional.
Also, I add some sprinkles. Looks so cute.

This whipped frosting you speak of, sold in the grocery store?
I need to buy one of those decorating bag and a funky tip and I should be all set
this is gonna take practice, lots of it

Yes...the whipped frosting is sold where the other frostings are sold. I use the whipped cause it's fluffier and easy to squirt.
Instead of the bag (which can get really messy and a PITA to clean), I have this plastic gun with a push handle on top. You just screw on the tips, open the gun, put in some frosting, close up the gun, and squirt away! I got the gun in a Corningware store for like $2.

You all are fancy! I either buy a can or make my own icing and apply with a spatula or knife, just like I do with cake.
