Royal Carribbean-Bahamas Cruise
My husband and I are going on our first cruise in April out of Orlando, to the Bahama Islands. I'm so nervous, because I feel like I know nothing about crusing.
What is the online check in? Do you have to complete it online or can you check in at the port?
My passport says my maiden name on it, do I have to change it before the trip?
How to I get from the Airport to the boat?
Did you book the land excurssions before going on the cruise or when you got there? What is the best ones to take???
How many did you book?
Does Royal Carribbean have a lot to do on the boat?
Sorry for the 20 questions (LOL). I'm just so nervous, I'm going to miss something. TIA

Re: Royal Carribbean-Bahamas Cruise
We're leaving in 2 weeks out of Puerto Rico on our 2nd cruise. I've been on 2 cruises and have checked in at the port and had no problems.
We usually fly in the day before, and stay at a hotel near the port and just take a taxi there. You can arrange with your cruise line for ground transportation as well...check their website.
As for your passport, if your cruise documents are in your married name, your passport needs to match your documents, I would send that away ASAP.
We usually book the excursions we reallly want to take online when we booked our cruise. Just to make sure they don't fill up and we miss out on it.
I've never been on RC before, so I can't answer specific RC questions, but most boats will have TONS to do on board.
Have fun!

You need to definitely check in on-line. I'm not even sure if they allow you to check in at the port anymore. (security reasons). It is very easy on-line, just remember to print out your information and bring it with you.
As some said above, your passport needs to match your cruise documents. Make sure you change it soon.
Are you working with a travel agent or did you book the cruise on your own. If you are working with a travel agent, call them up and ask them to arrange a transfer from the airport to the ship. If you booked yourself, just contact RC and arrange a transfer. When you get off the plane and get your bags, you look for people holding up different cruise signs. Look for Royal Caribbean and go with them. They will take your bags, and bring you to the ship. You will not see your bags again until they arrive at your room. You could also take a cab, but I think the transfer is the easiest way.
You should try to book your excursions before the cruise. The tickets will be brought right to your room, and you don't have to wait on-line. (More time to relax). If you have never been snorkeling you should try it. I''m not sure where you are going, so I can't give you suggestions about what tour to go on. Let me know where you are going and I can help.
There is a ton to do on RCCL. It is a great cruise line.
If you have any other questions just FM me.

Re: Royal Carribbean-Bahamas Cruise
I usually book my excursions in advance - it's a bit easier. You can do it as soon as you get your cruise documents (there is a number on them that you need to make the reservations).
When we were in Nassau though - we did a do it yourself tour and took a water taxi over to Atlantis and paid on our own to walk around (my friend had been there before so she knew the drill though). We didn't get to go to Coco Cay because it was too windy and they couldn't set up tender service (I went in November and the weather wasn't the greatest then).
There is a lot to do on RCCL boats - obviously, the larger the boat = the more there is to do.
Your passport must match the names on all of your documents. If you booked the cruise in your married name, I would start the process now for your new passport to ensure you get it ontime.
If you are flying into Orlando, you are taking a boat out of Port Canaveral which is 45 min-hr ride. We did that once and booked transfers directly through the cruise line (we took a bus from the airport right to the cruise port) with other cruise passengers. On cruises leaving out of Miami, we just got a cab because the port was closer to the airport.
Have fun!
