Re: "Official" Knitting club

I wish I could join you. My baby is due April 12th, so maybe I can go to the first one on April, but I can't go March 1st because I have to help prepare for my shower which is the next day.

I doubt I will be able to go once the baby is here. Chat Icon

But you never know, maybe My mother can watch her! Chat Icon

A few of us have babies under a year. It may take a while, but once you're ready, please join us. (Currently, I only make baby things because I don't have enough time to really devote to an adult sweater. I have been using my pump time at work and a little time in the evening to complete them. I didn't start getting back into knitting until DS was 5 months old, and that first sweater took soo much longer to complete than it normally would.)

My family is from PJ so if you ever want to meet at the Starbucks by Wild by Nature or go to a knitting store, let me know. I was also wondering which knitting stores you frequent around there. My mom and I have been going to The Knitting Cove in PJ village for a long time. (I don't really know of any other ones around there.)

Oooooh I'm so in for this!!! I'll be there 3/1. I live out by Pt. Jeff - but I don't mind traveling. My one suggestion is that we rotate towns so that its fair for everyone. (I had to drop out of a book club that was good because they always met in South Nassau and it just too much for me to keep traveling there)

I thought of the following in addition to the any starbucks:

- The Brown Dog Cafe in Kings Park
- The Tick Tock Cafe in St. James
- The Coffee Bean on 25A in St. James
- The Java Room on Main St. Farmingdale (kind of small though)

Re: "Official" Knitting club

Farmingdale/Huntington are closer for me. I live in Nassau. So I cannot go too far into Suffolk. Port Jeff. is about 1 hour for me.

I would be willing to go to Pt.Jeff...my parents are in Holbrook.

I can make it from NJ to my parents in Holbrook in 1 hour 15 min.

I live in NJ...PJ is definitely not an hour from Huntington Chat Icon

I don't live in Huntington. I am at least 30 minutes East of Huntington. I am in Nassau. So Port Jeff is 1 hour from my house. I am not sure I can do that. I have an 8 month baby. Unless I bring DS with me.

I was thinking Farmingdale or Huntington was more "centralized" for everyone.

If you are 30 minutes "east" of huntington, than you are closer to PJ, not further away. You probably mean you are west of huntington Chat Icon Chat Icon

I have to travel regardless, so Suffolk is easier for me because then I can drop DD off with Grandma Chat Icon But..whatever the majority decides, I will see if I can come. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Farmingdale/Huntington is closer to my house; Pt Jeff is by my parents. So either works for me.

Are we still meeting?

Is that place in Kings Park too far for everyone? I think someone on this board owns it.

Re: "Official" Knitting club

We are still on ..... I think!

I personally still prefer 110 area

Since this is a Saturday, everything is busy.

We talked about Starbucks

We could also do:

Barnes and Nobles
Borders

I prefer 110 area also. I believe there's a Borders by one of the movie theatres on 110. I'm not sure how the seating will be.
