How do you cook frozen vegetables...

Was just wondering how you all cook frozen vegetables? do you steam them, stir fry them.

What can I add besides salt to give them more flavor...

Re: How do you cook frozen vegetables...

I usually just cook them in water until done, bright green and fork tender (I hate over cooked veggies.)

Then I usually just add some salt pepper and garlic powder

Re: How do you cook frozen vegetables...

Depends on the veggie and what I am cooking with it.

I will stir fry if I am making a stir fry for dinner but normally I will just boil a little bit of water, toss in the veggies and cook for 5-8 minutes until brightly colored and ready.

I only steam fresh veggies and I hate to microwave veggies at all.

My sister's MIL adds Soy Vey Terayaki sauce to them when finished, just a little bit for flavor.

I put them frozen in the top of my steamer pot with a bit of water in the bottom and then steam them.

This is what I do as well. I also add a little bit of soy sauce and EVOO.

Re: How do you cook frozen vegetables...

We mostly use fresh veggies, but we always buy veggies for our stir fries pre-mixed and frozen. I'll pour a bit of sesame oil, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce and dried ginger. When it heats up, I toss in the veggies and cook until they're hot, but still firm.

We've made brussel sprouts from frozen two different ways recently:

1. still frozen, sauteed with oil and garlic until hot

2. defrosed in the bag, cut in half roasted at 400 (cut side down) w/ a bit of olive oil.
