Re: Disney Meal Plans ??

It depends on how you dine when you are on vacation.

If you are planning to have a sit down dinner every evening then it pays keeping in mind you should have all your dining reservations made in advance since you are basically pre-paying all your meals.

If you would rather grab something and spend more time in the parks or eat off property then it wouldn't be worth it.

fyi...if you are going during a peak time, if there are particular places you would like to eat at certain times, you should make dining reservations if you are on the plan or not.

It depends on where and how much you want to eat.

The new plan (basic plan) covers a counter service, snack and table service (where you get entree, dessert and non alcoholic drink but you have to pay tip).

To see if is a good deal for you - I would check out allearsnet.com This site has the menus from all the counter service and table service restaurants in WDW - this way you can see where you want to eat and how much you would spend to see if it is a good deal.

The plan used to be a better deal when it included apps and tips.

It is more convenient though - if that is a factor in your decision.

If you don't plan on eating the most expensive thing on the menu or having dessert at every sit down meal it might be cheaper to pay out of pocket - so I would sit down and see where you want to eat and what you it will cost you.

Re: Disney Meal Plans ??

It is a great deal. I'm glad disney is starting to let the employees use it sometimes (during off peak season) i'm going in a month and have the deal. while yes, it was amazing when they had the appetizer and tip included, however it was too much food. I get the deal alot cheaper so it's worth it for me for sure. We love eating at the sit down restaurants so it's a great deal! Just make sure you time your reservations right. One time I went had lunch then had to eat 3 hours later, I thought I was going to puke from being too full. Make your reservations ASAP. I made my reservations now for the first week of April and alot of the restaurants reservations are already booked up!
