Re: Disney meal plan?
I did it when it was free in September so Idont know if that makes a huge difference or not but it's a LOT of food. I felt like we spent most of our time in the restaurants eating making the most of our free dining.. oh did I mention it's a lot of food??
If I had to pay for it, no I would not get it.

Re: Disney meal plan?
It depends on how you are planning to take your meals while you are there. If you are going to a lot of table service places then there might be savings for you.
This worksheet will help you determine if it's a good value for you. These menus will help you determine out of pocket costs.
The real drawback to having the plan is that you are going to want to have your dining reservations (ADRs) made in advance so you use all the credits you purchased because you lose any you don't use.

Re: Disney meal plan?
when are you going? If you are going in 2007 it might be a good idea - the new 2008 plan is less of a good value - they took away the apps and there are fewer restaurants on the 2008 plan

Re: Disney meal plan?
We're going in 6 wks and went w/ the dining plan. I guess I'll know after the trip if it was worth it or not.

Re: Disney meal plan?
DH and I always get it (this past time we had to pay for it)...SO worth it... but, we also LOVE food, and love dining at the fancy restaurants. If we didn't have the meal plan, we wouldn't eat at most of the restaurants on property and, honestly, it IS a really great dining experience imo.

Re: Disney meal plan?
It was a good deal for us both times we went. When we went for our HM we ate a TON! The last time we went we would share an app and a dessert, even though it came with both. Even so, we still saved a lot of money using the dining plan.

Re: Disney meal plan?
We are using it in April. I think it will be very beneficial to us because we never eat lunch (just a quick snack) and have sit down dinners every night while on vacation.
If you're a person who doesn't eat much on vacation (my friends are that way... I swear they exist on string cheese and granola bars for a week while away!) then I'd say don't do it.
