My Mom Called Yesterday...

My great uncle passed away on the 21st. I haven't seen him since I was a kid. My grandfather and him got in a fight about something and stopped talking. I was the only one who kept in contact with him and his wife over the years. My grandparents don't know I was speaking to him. No one from my family is going up there for the services. I was hoping to go up there with my daughter and husband over the summer to see him since he'd never met them. I'm very sad and I can't talk to my family about it. I wish I could go say goodbye now, but it's too late.

Thanks for letting me vent. Things were easier when my great aunt passed away in September (right before my wedding) since she's on my mom's side and that part of my family is very close. So this is very strange feeling for me, I feel very isolated.
