Special ed teachers
How do you differentiate instruction for math in your room. Could you please give me an example. I am trying to help out a new teacher in my school. Thanks!

Re: Special ed teachers
I use manipulatives and actually have the kids act out what they are doing

Re: Special ed teachers
i teach self-contained special ed....
I use manipulatives and lots of visuals... drawigns, charts, etc. i also let them draw and create the models where possible (for multiplication, division and fractions). I also use decimal squares for decimals and percents.
the consistencyin language is KEY! use the same language when you explain and re-explain, particularly for speech-impaired kids or ELLs.
Also, i let my kids use multiplication charts and i also give them charts to remember the steps of a formula (like long division for example).
i also play a LOT of games to reinforce skills and concepts.
