Spinoff from topic on FHF...For the SAHM's...
Although we don't leave the house to go to a "job", our jobs are 24/7. I have a 7 year old and a 5 month old. It's always something...if I'm not bringing my son to baseball, it's the Dr., or the baby needs to eat, or I have to do homework with my son, or cook, or clean, or take a shower, do laundry, food shopping, pay bills...the list goes on and on as you all know.
Does your DH make it like you don't have a job, and have it so easy???

I don't think he has ANY idea!! and it's rather frustrating. Sometimes he asks me to do something for him and he doesn't understand that I just don't have a ton of free time! and then he comes home and says 'I'm tired' - ARGH!!! at least you get to sleep at night! We are on call 24 hrs a day!!!

I have 3 kids. A 7 year old, 4 year old and 17 month old. I always make sure that my husband pitches in where he can. I used to make the mistake of just doing everything myself but when he is around there are things he can do and should do. He works a lot of hours at his job but he gets breaks and lunch hours. I don't and when his shift is over he's done with work. We aren't. Definitely explain it to your Dh's before you get resentful towards them. It's well worth it!

I have a 9-5 job leave the house at 8 home at 6 and he still thinks I do no work. he says I dont work I just sit on my A$$ all day and do nothing.

Actually, since I went back to work PT - one day a week - my DH stays home with Andrew that one day. THe first day I came home, he told me I have it way harder than he ever imagined.... And now that Andrew is older, its harder. I know DH has a great appreciation for my job at home

I would have to say yes my DH acts like i stay in bed all day or watch tv all day when the truth is when I was a manager that job was a lot easier not as rewarding but easier yes so I know what he does all day as a manager and I think its fustrating to say that we have it easy i mean heck our job starts when they get up and dont end till they go to bed and then we still have other stuff to do like laundry etc. but when my Dh comes home hes done. Lets just say I feel heated on this topic lol.

That stinks-do your kids keep you up all the time? I guess I am VERY lucky that I have 2 kids who sleep through the night.

I told my DH that he leaves his job at 5:00, I never leave my job, its 24 hours, he gets weekends and vacation days and a few mental health days.....not me. I'm the maid, nanny, cook, and some other things that I wont mention on a family site 
If I'm not with my son I'm thinking about my son, its never ending. But I wouldnt change it for a thing

No he never really took what I do for granted ( maybe b/c everytime we argue I list all the things I do that he dosent  )
But I dont think he ever really full understood until for a brief period when he was laid off and I was working part time and I made HIM do the laundry, clean the house, take care of the baby, etc. etc.
After that he gave me alot more credit. He knows that I do alot I just dont think he realized how hard/time consuming some of the work is.

EXACTLY!!! I leave my DH alone with both kids while I go food shopping and he ALWAYS calls me to come home because he cant make Jeremy stop crying or Emmas bouncing off the walls. Its RARE if I get out without a phone call from home. On that note, he still doesnt get it. He still thinks my days are relaxing watching Oprah (which I do do sometimes, the Oprah part ) and letting the kids sit in dirty diapers, starve, play alone, burp and stay inside all day. Even when I am in bed Im worried about Emma getting up and going to play while I am not there to keep an eye on her and I have Jeremy sleeping next to me wondering when hes going to wake up...
