4th of July Family Getaway
Anyone have any ideas? DH wanted to do something but has no idea what. Only requirement is we are driving. Would prefer something that is not to $$$ since we are going on a cruise in August

I'm going to this place called Massanutten Resort in Virginia. It has an indoor/outdoor water park, 2 golf course, a spa, playgrounds and tons of childrens activites (most cost extra $$) We will be going in April. DS is only 17 months so he won't be old enough for the childrens activites, but I can let you know how it is overall when we get back. It's "supposed" to be a 6 hour drive- which is as long as I'm willing to spend in the car.

Boston - beautiful!
Quebec - it is a drive but gorgeous.
Montauk is close and easy to get to.
Connecticut - cute places to see like Mystic.

If you don't mind driving about 7 hours to get there, try Williamsburg, VA. The colonial area would be a nice place to spend a patriotic holiday.
