UPDATED 3/20: A Good Interview? What do you think?
After reading many articles about how to determine if your interview went well, I'm begininng to think that perhaps I'm not such a great judge of it and wanted to get your opinions....tell me what you think. Here are the basics:
1. I met with the HR Director 2. I was there for an hour 3. For one of my answers, I got "that's exactly what we're looking for." 4. This is a travel-related job, and although my background is in travel, it is in travel pr. This is not a travel pr job. 5. They told me what the next steps are and said she or another person would 'be in touch next week.' A second interview was not arranged on the spot. 6. She asked me to send her writing samples 7. She asked me what my timing was in terms of a new job, including where I am in the interview process with other companies.
Now ordinarily, I'd think this was overall a good interview. There was no awkwardness or silence and I think I answered the questions well. However, I keep reading about how at good interviews, a second one is arranged right then and there and that didn't happen.
Your thoughts?
UPDATE: Guess it was good!!!! One of the HR people called me today to get my feedback on how i thought it went. I was very positive, told her how much i'd like to work for them, etc. So she said 'well in that case, we'd like to have you come in again on tuesday!'
Woo hoo!!!! Please please keep your fingers crossed for me.

Re: A Good Interview? What do you think?
I think it sounds like it went well.
I don't know too many companies that schedule a second interview on the spot. A second interview will normally involve individuals not at the first interview and scheduling needs to be arranged with them first.
The fact that they asked you to send writing samples is good! I think it sounds like a great interview.
Good luck!

It went well. The fact that they asked you to send samples and asked if you have been interviewing is a good sign. They want to see more..and then they'll prob call you back in. Good luck!
