WW Meeting Question

Okay, so I'm thinking of signing up for the monthly pass and going to WW meetings. I've just restarted online (I've been on-line but haven't been on track in a while).

I'm wondering if it's really worth it. I'm also a little nervous of going by myself. My Mom said that she did it years and years ago and she didn't like it. If you go, do you go by yourself? Did you feel out of place? Do you know anything about the Lynbrook WW center in particular?

TIA

Re: WW Meeting Question

For me, attending the meetings is the only way I can "do" WW. I NEED the accountablility--left to my own devices, I slip up alllll the time. I've been going to WW on and off for many years and I've done it with family and alone. Either way is fine--I have no problem being alone; in fact, it probably makes me focus even more.

Re: WW Meeting Question

I have a monthly pass and I attend meetings every week.
This is my 3rd go around with WW. I am doing it with my sister, but we attend mtgs at different times.
It does not bother me to go it alone.
I know that those ever-friendly ladies are going to be weighing me and writing down my weight in the book. For me, that is enough.
The people at the mtgs are super nice and supportive, so I like it.
HTH.

Re: WW Meeting Question

IMO totally worth it! I have done it both by myself and with friends. It's always better to have a buddy but if not, just make sure you find a group and leader that you are comfortable with and like! Feel free to go to a few meetings that may fit your schedule until you find the one that is the best fit for you.

Re: WW Meeting Question

I go to meeting every single week. While it's nice to go with someone, I think going by yourself keeps you focused. If you go with someone, then if they don't go you make excuses for you not to go, you compare your losses, etc. For me it's too much to handle. i go by myself. I do have a friend who goes to the same meeting, but I see her there. We don't meet up and go in together. I think that's the best thing for me.

good luck! Oh, and to answer your other question...it's TOTALLY worth it!!!!!
