No, seriously....(Easter/food related)

Ok, so I tried to keep myself in check points -wise on Easter.

Yeah, about that....it was a lost effort by the second course.

Today, we had leftovers.

Instead of being on control, I just ate and ate because the food was there.

It made me feel really out of control, not to mention made meChat Icon at myself.

UGH.
Anyone else suffer from this at holidays or EVER??

Always.

It happens. You just have to remember to chalk it up to a bad day/days and get back up and do it right the next day.

Beating yourself up is only gonna make you feel bad and binge again.

Seriously - totally not a big deal. Two days out of 24 so far this month. I'd say you are doing pretty good percentage-wise!Chat Icon

Re: No, seriously....(Easter/food related)

I ate 3 meals on Easter: First course was lasagna, meatballs, sausage, bread. Second was turkey, stuffing, corn, sweet potato. Third was dessert, and it was a meal in itself!

Bad bad bad. But now I'm on detox, meaning lots of water and healthy eating. I took home only healthy leftovers. It happens, but then you gotta just get back on the horse.

Re: No, seriously....(Easter/food related)

Here's how I think about it...

I am quickly approaching my 1 year anniversary of re-joining ww for the umpteenth time. I am down over 55 lbs - that is just over 1 lb/week.

During this year I have attended weddings, birthday parties, bridal showers, bachlorette parties, baby showers, BBQs and then some. There was free food at seminars and conferences left and right. I even went to Europe! I SURVIVED the holidays - I am still going strong.

Was I 100% for most of these occasions? Hell no! I enojyed myself, I enjoyed life - and a year later I've STILL lost 55 lbs.

My advice - just live and let live. Nobody is perfect and it's not fair to beat yourself up when you aren't 100% on program every single day.

Enjoy your Easter, enjoy your leftovers - once it's gone just be sure you don't miss a beat and get right back on track!

ETS: I just want to be clear and say I am NOT advocating going off program for each of these things. I am just simply saying at times you willl struggle with these things and other times you will breeze through them. What is important is to not beat yourself up about it and just learn from your journey. If you stay focused, strong and never give up you can be a big loser Chat Icon Chat Icon

Exactly. My WW leader always say we didn't gain all of our weight from Thanksgiving or Christmas or Easter. It was all of those random Tuesday binges.

Don't beat yourself up. Chat Icon

I always try to eat before big holiday meals, that way I'm already full and won't binge.
