Core Questions
I decided to give core a try because I cheat way too much on flex and I have a few questions....
- What type of whole wheat pasta does everyone like and use?
- How much rice or pasta can you have in one day...1 cup of rice or 1 cup of pasta or is it something else? (I know it's only one though...not both)
- Just to make sure Iunderstand this...if I made a core recipe I don't have to follow serving size...I eat until I am satisfied? So if I want two pieces of chicken I can?
Thanks!

Hi Ang!
My absolute favorite whole wheat pasta is TJ brand penne.
There is no limit to how much rice or pasta you eat. It is until you are satisfied. No measurements on core ever unless it is a non-core food.
And to answer your last question - YES! I am going to look for a previous core thread and bump it for you.
Good luck and let me know if you need any help!!

Dreamfields I believe is low carb but not whole wheat but I am not sure?
There is a trader joes right in Merrick you should check it out. They have different kinds of whole wheat but I always get the penne They also have core chili lime burgers, but I prefer making my own chicken burgers. Anyway they're great if you're short on time and just want something to grab out of the freezer and eat!

Anything else you can suggest picking up from Trader Joe's?

Re: Core Questions
Hi! I switched over to core a few weeks ago for the same reason. I was cheating way too much on flex. My favorite brand of whole wheat pasta is Hodgson's Mill. They have it in most supermarkets. On core, you can eat until you are satisfied but you are only supposed to have one serving of whole wheat pasta, brown rice or a potato per day. You also get 35 points per week for foods that are not core. Good luck! Core takes more planning but it is so nice not to count points.

Definitely get the whole wheat couscous. SOOOOO good!!!!!! They also have Southwest-style turkey burgers that are delicious. I like to put some roasted red peppers, lettuce and red onion into a whole wheat wrap and put the burger in there. I even like to mix up my own BBQ ranch sauce by mixing BBQ sauce and light ranch dressing. GREAT meal!

Re: Core Questions
Thanks so much for the great tips...good to know that I can get the pasta in the regular supermarket and I love that BBQ sauce combo...sounds so good!!!
Day one of core and I have to say that I like it! I loved Atkins...just can't do it anymore so maybe that's why I like core better?

How is your week on Core going Ang?
I owe you a huge thank you for turning me on to core...I love it! My 1st week isn't even up yet and I am down 3 pounds!
But I shouldn't get too excited...these are the 3 pounds that have been fluctuating since I had Lucas. I need to get past this number!
I love core!!! I think that being so dedicated to Atkins for so long makes this easier for me than flex.
Last night I made apricot chicken with some brown rice, a salad and took a point to use Marie's BC....OMG! What a great meal!!!
