Re: Lasagna Recipe

Ingred.
• 1-2 boxes of Barilla Oven
Ready (no cook) Lasagne
Noodles
• 2 eggs
• 1 15oz part-skim ricotta
• 4 cups shredded mozzarella
• 1/2 cup grated Parm cheese
• Meat Sauce
(see other recipe )

Instruction
• Preheat oven to 375° & spray baking pan (13x9x3) with non-stick cooking spray.
• In medium bowl, beat eggs, stir in ricotta, 2 cups of mozzarella & parm cheese.
• Begin to Assemble: (When layering lasagne, slightly overlap sheets. Lasagne will expand to the edges during cooking. Spread fillings to edges to seal in and cool the lasagna during baking.)
• Layer as follows:
• Spread 1 cup of sauce on bottom of baking pan.
• Layer uncooked noodles (spread noodles to cover bottom of pan), 1/3 ricotta mixture, 1 cup
mozzarella & 1 cup of sauce in that order.
• Layer uncooked noodles, 1/3 ricotta mixture & 1 1/2 cups sauce.
• Layer uncooked noodles, the remaining ricotta mixture & 1 cup sauce.
• Top with uncooked noodles, sauce and remaining 1 cup mozzarella.
•Bake, covered with foil, until bubbly, 50-60 minutes. Uncover & continue cooking until cheese is melted, about 5 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting.

Simple Meat Sauce

• 2 lbs lean chopped meat.
• 1 small onion, chopped
• 4 cloves garlic, chopped
• 2 TBS chopped fresh parsley
• 3 large cans of tomatoes—
puree or crushed
(San Marzano, Cello or
LaBella are best brands)
• 2 TBS chopped fresh basil
•1 can tomato paste
• olive oil
• red wine (optional)

Instructions
• Brown chopped meat in pan until no longer pink. Drain & set aside.
• Coat bottom of pan generously with olive oil. Heat & saute onion & garlic until onion is translucent. Add parsley & basil and stir around for 1 minute. Add tomatoes, tomato paste and 1 tomato paste can full of water or wine (wine is better).
• Heat through, then add meat.
• Simmer for at least 30 minutes to however long you want.
• You may need to add about a tsp of salt, or if sauce is better, a tsp of sugar.
