montauk question
we are planning a family trip with my sil's family 2 kids..our 2 kids..so we need ideas for a place that is
on the beach has a kitchen and would like joining rooms.
we arent really worried about price..we just need something convenient to town, water and something nice enough that if it rains we will still enjoy ourselves
thanks for any info!

Re: montauk question
the montauk manor has suites and duplexes all with kitchens. Close to town - not to the beach - still beautiful grounds and an indoor pool if the weather is bad

Re: montauk question
we stay at gurney's inn every year - they have tons of different types of rooms - i know for sure they have rooms with kitchenettes - not sure about full kitchens but it is RIGHT on a beautiful beach and very close to town. it can be $ but all the places out there are, really. and we love it - they have an indoor pool, huge spa facility, game room for kids, lots to do and great food. we love it!
montauk manor is nice too but not on the beach.
HTH!

No it's definitely not. The montauk manor isn't in town, but they do have complimentary shuttles to take you to and from.
I would check out the surf club. It's right in town, otherwise there is the Royal Atlantic or Atlantic Terrace (all on the beach and in town). But keep in mind that these places aren't as nice as Gurneys or the Manor. They're a bit out dated.

Re: montauk question
The Royal Atlantic has condo's on the beach that are beautiful and a short walk to town. Other than that you can try Ocean Beach, RonJon and there are a few others right on the beach. As Aliwnec said though, they aren't as nice - very motel-ish. Check out MontaukChamber.com - there is a lot of info there and you can call the different hotels for rates.

Re: montauk question
I'd highly recommend Royal Atlantic East. Gorgeous condos right on the ocean, and definately in walking distance to town.

Re: montauk question
I have been going to Montauk my entire life and consider myself a semi-local
I would recommend the Ocean Beach resort for sure. We go every year. It is in town...on the ocean. Rooms open up to the deck where there are chairs to sit on or walk right down to beach.
Best part is that is has an indoor pool (atruim). only Ocean Beach and the Yacht club have an indoor pool and it really helps with kids iin case it rains.
Good luck and HAVE FUN!!
We are going the week of Sept 8 and DH and I are going the weekend of May 17 for a couple of nights for our anniversary.
