Can anyone tell me about Boston?
I'm considering a trip to Boston with DH. I've been there before when I was younger with my parents and loved it. Can you give me your recommendations of what to see and where to stay? TIA

My BFF lived there when he went to college, I loved to go visit. I'll call him later and ask him for some places for you!

No Red Sox Games.
Other than that, it is a great city!

Re: Can anyone tell me about Boston?
I love it there!! My sister and I went to college there and DH and I go a few times a year.
I don't really do the touristy things, but the Duck tours are lots of fun. You should check out Fanueil Hall.
My favorite thing to do is to walk up and down newbury street and hangout in the Boston Commons (park) and walk around the Back Bay. I also like to wander around Harvard Square.
ETA: i would definitely try to stay in the Back Bay area.

Boston is great for sight seeing. Duck Tours, Museum Tours, Faneuil Hall. They also have the best Filene's Basement lol.

Re: Can anyone tell me about Boston?
I adored Boston!! We stayed at this amazing bed and breakfast (Diamond District Inn). It was in Lynn MA but a 10 minute train ride from Boston. It was easy to get around.... we walked everywhere. We went to the aquarium and Quincy Market ( i think that's what its called) I would love to go back!

Re: Can anyone tell me about Boston?
We went to Boston last May. Had a great time but some things were really below our expectations.
1) Walking the Freedom Trail--you think you are gonna get all this rich history of the Revolution and all we saw were gravestones of a guy who at one point maybe might have had a cup of tea with Paul Revere. Could have just been the tour we did. Too many cemeteries!
2) The Boston Aquarium--My wife and I LOVE aquariums. Every vacation we go on we visit the nearest aquarium. The NE Aquarium is one of the worst IMO. The penguins are great but Atlantis puts it to shame in a big way.
What we liked:
The North End--The Italian District. Eat there. The restaurants are amazing. You can't go wrong.
Old North Church is great!
Faniell (sp?) Hall is awesome. Always tons of stuff going on!
Have a pint of Sam Adams at the Bull and Finch Pub (Cheers site)
Enjoy! It is a great town...and that's coming from a Yankees fan. LOL
