What do you do when you plateau?
I always hit a plateau, right around the 135lb mark, which is where I am now. That's typically when I get so frustrated, lose steam and fall off the wagon. I DON'T want that to happen this time, and I'm committing to a lifestyle change, and committing to my end goal of 130lbs, but I need some ideas on how to shake my body out of the plateau. Any good ideas?

Change your diet and change your workout, Do what you wouldn't normally do at the gym. I have also heard that sometimes you need to eat more. You can also add an extra day at the gym.

I have the same problem. I have increased my mileage but have not really gained or lost any weight.

I have also hear that switching up your caloric intake can do this. So one day you eat 1600 calories, next day 2200, next day 2000. Then start the cycle again

Re: What do you do when you plateau?
Your body does this because it is your metabolism adjusting to your new, lower weight. You need fewer calories now than when you loose weight.
Plateaus are actually good for long term weight loss. I know everyone wants to see immediate results, but there has been research the shows people who take weight loss breaks, or plateaus maintain the weight loss for longer than those who dont.

Re: What do you do when you plateau?
I do WW and when I plateau I usually switch programs for a few weeks. If I've been doing points I switch to core for a few weeks and it usually jump starts things. But like a PP said, it is normal to plateau for a few weeks.

I agree with this.
I know changing the way I was spending my points (if you're on WWers) helped.
ie. instead of a WWers 3 pt muffin, I switched to cantaloupe & a drinkable yogurt (4 pts).
