Getting a job in NYC

Hi all,

I figured I would put it out there that I am searching for a job in secondary Social Studies. I am definitely open to NYC and was just wondering if anyone had any advice other than sending my resume directly to the individual schools, which is what some old posts stated was a good idea.

Also, if there is anyone willing to pass along my resume, I would really appreciate it. I am a career changer and I think there are a few unique aspects to my background and education that make me a great candidate. I've been teaching with Kaplan for years so I do have pretty extensive experience with the teenage population. I'd be happy to share more about my background with anyone willing to make a contact for me so you know what you are talking about.
