Eye Infection...

Tyson woke up this morning with his eye practically shut..when I pet him on his head near his eye he yelped Chat Icon

I took a moist cotton ball and rubbed his eye with it to get out the guck but when he opened his eye it was still all watery and irritated.

This afternoon my mother went over to check him and said his eye was completely shut and needed to be moistened with a cotton ball to even open it....she didn't pry it open he opened it on his own..he seems okay otherwise though, he's playing and stuff.

I made a vet appt but what could it be?

Re: Eye Infection...

Just had a similar situation with our dog this past weekend. All they could say for sure was it was somre sort of an inflamation and I hvae to put drops in his eye and ointment *IN* his eye. It is clearing rather quickly (although we noticed last night his "good" was starting to look funny Chat Icon )

Re: Eye Infection...

Oh my god - I feel so bad for him - but he looks damn cute with that around his head. The vet told me today that this breed is prone to eye and ear infections and that we should we cleaning their eyes every day.
