Question about urine analysis..

I am only 7-8 weeks preg. had all my bloodwork done and it came out good, nurse said they want to re-do the urine analysis.

She said it looked Contaminated - what the hell could that mean ?

Plus she said to get it done soon and it has to be done with prescription @ lab, but I have an app't with Dr. 1/23 and they already gave me the cup to bring.

so confused, couldn't ask certain questions with my boss next to me....

did the lab make you wipe with antibacterial wipes before you peed in the cup?

If not, that's what they prob meant by contaminated.

When I did the slew of tests around that time, I had to wipe with 3 different wipes in the area before I peed.

No, they didn't - I never heard of that - maybe that was it. You know what pisses me off is that this is the 2nd time something like this happened and #1 the lab is not opened at night - I have to go BEFORE work, which is 7:30 and #2 I have to pay ANOTHER co-pay. So annoying

Contamination could be one of several things.. none to be overly stressed by. Sometimes its just bacteria that may have gotten into the stream, or white blood cells, which some women produce throughout their entire pregnancy, some only produce them if they have a UTI. They are probably just making sure your counts are on the normal side..

I thnk I have asked every question about Ua's, cause I have been producing white blood cells my ENTIRE pregnancy. Its getting to be a pain, but I am almost through! Good Luck!
