It is so upsetting. They have not asked for them all year...and now they ask!?!?!?! SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!?!

And then they proceeded to put letters in the files of people who had their lessons on the computer and not printer out.

without knowing if you were one of these people, I have to ask why wouldnt you have them printed out.
I mean I have to turn in my book every other week for scrutiny so maybe I'm just used to it

I had this happen to me one day when i was put in a class i didnt know i would be covering for x amount of days. I got cited for it too.
If it happened to you i know how u feel
As long as its written in a plan book (computers im not sure of) you should be all right, but I was also told they cant remove it from your classroom and you can file a grivance for it.
Talk to your UFT rep.

I would be screwed at your school. I never, ever, write lesson plans. i write in my planner, but it doesn't make sense to anyone else but me.
my district has not ONCE asked for lesson plans, only for your formal observations.

I hand in copies of my lesson planbook (done on the computer to make life easier) every week-to both my AP and our department head. If you miss one, they said a letter. I think the copies stay in a file-in case the state needs them.
Maybe, they should have asked for them all along...an someone didn't ?? Now they are making up for it??
Before I was tenured, I had to write up full lesson plans for each lesson (just for the department head) ugg

technically, if the school supplied the plan book, it is their property and they can ask for it at any time.
also, most contracts have stipulations regarding plans and what you are required to have.
every district is different though, and i'm just speaking for mine

I am sooooooo happy that I do not need to keep a plan book in my district. I make my own daily lessons, but I do it on the computer. I think it is silly to ask adults to write out what they're doing every second of the day. What other jobs make you do that?!

This is me, too. I hate nothing more than writing lesson plans--I still do put them in the book on Sunday night, but they're useless to anyone but me!
