my face is going to be ok!!
so- i think i posted a couple weeks ago that i had some skin biopsies done and 2 of the spots came back as "pre melanoma". they want to do surgery to remove an area of skin around it so that it doesn't turn into actual melanoma. fine, great- but one of the spots is right on my cheek, and the doctor hasn't given me a straight answer about how much they're gonna have to take and how big of a scar i'll have.
so a few of my friends recommended their derma and it turns out that they do the new MOHS surgery. this is where they remove just a little bit of skin at a time and test it little by little until they get all of the bad cells instead of just blindly taking a big chunk of skin. and i got an appointment with that surgeon for friday to get a second opinion  i'm just so happy that i'm gonna have an alternative to just having a big chunk taken out of my cheek!!
