SO I just found out about my leave...
My cheap company is going to pay me for 6 weeks .. I guess itis better then nothing but this company has millions..
Also my boss broke his leg a few months back and he was out for 4 months and got FUll PAy!!!
BS if you ask me..

Although it isn't great, it isn't terrible either. My company only paid me for 2 weeks and my SIL's company paid her nothing.

6 weeks is all my company is offering me too. It s u c k s but at the same time I guess its better than nothing....
I will only get 80% pay for the first 4 weeks
and 60% pay for the last 2 weeks! Cheap-o's!!

Since I am a "independent contractor/1099 employee", I will not be paid a salary. I will be paid on my commissions from the months prior to me taking my leave. However, at my old job, I would have to use up all of my leave time then I would have been paid 1/2 of my salary for 3 weeks. Then I would have another 3 weeks (for a total of 6) unpaid. If I did not come back after 6 weeks I would be terminated. That was the cr@ppy company policy of my last employer.
Keep in mind that maternity leave sux in most companies and your company is giving you the standard 6 weeks from what I have heard from other people.

I am taking the full 12 weeks and I will deal with it for the other 6.. I do have a paid week and a half vacation in there..
no way will i be ready to go back at 6 weeks..

I guess your right..
I am actually taking an extra 2 weeks because I am going out next friday ..
I will know next week if I have to get a C section..

6 weeks is better than what my company gives... I only get 1 weeks pay for each year I have been there! After that I have to use vaction, personal and sick time... After that's used up I have to go on Short Term Disability

This is the same for me. And since disability caps off at I think a little over $200 a week, it is almost nothing compared to what I make now.

When I was out on STD last year the max was $170 per week in New York State.

Count me in on the list of non paid leavers, disability here too so be happy about the 6 weeks you get pay. We have an envelope that we've been stashing money in for my 8 weeks off. It's gonna be tight...

I hear ya.. My thing is a lil warning would have been nice.. i didn't get pg yesterday you know.. I was told i would be paid regular salary and now they tell me 6 weeks..
