Re: I am so miserable at work.
That really stinks. If you do start looking, be patient. It's rough out there right now, but noone should suffer the emotional crap they are pulling on you. Hope it works out.

Re: I am so miserable at work.
I understand your pain. I feel stuck at my job since I am pregnant and can't leave for obvious reasons until after the baby is born..........otherwise I would've started looking awhile ago.
My situation is not nearly as bad as yours but it still sucks to have to go to a job every day that on a good day is "eh" at best.
I actually told my boss yesterday I am expecting and he asked me flat out if I am leaving LOL.

Re: I am so miserable at work.
I feel your pain hun, I am at my new job only 1 month and am in the same boat as you! i dont know what companies are thinking. Start looking for a new job while you are being paid by this one.. I think by the end of Summer alot more companies will be hiring! GOOD LUCK AND HANG IN THERE!!

Re: I am so miserable at work.
I am so sorry you are going through this & I totally understand your situation. Right after I got married, I started a job.. received practically no training whatsoever. If I would ask my direct supervisor a question regarding how to handle the "next step" she would roll her eyes at me & ask me what "my problem was" My hours were supposed to be from 9am to 6pm with 1 hr lunch & it quickly turned into 8:30am to 7:30pm with 10 min for a quick bite. I felt sad & worn on a daily basis. DH would pick me up from the lirr & I would start to cry in the car for no reason at all. I lasted a little more than 7 months before DH & I decided that I should quit. Now I hear that the person they hired to replace me is lazy & basically a moron & the same nasty supervisor asks my friend everyday why I left
I have been home a few weeks now, looking for a job. The market does suck & luckily, we can live off of DH's salary for a bit & I never regretted my decision to leave because I have my sanity.
If you have the time, I recommend sending out your resume. It sounds like you are a hardworking, self sufficient employee & shouldn't have too much of a hard time finding a new job.
I didn't catch it from your post but what a you a buyer for? A fashion company?

That sux. I'm sorry you are going through that.
Definitely start looking elsewhere. You don't need to be in a toxic environment where they didn't even train you properly. Trust me, I know.

Re: I am so miserable at work.
Wait, they fired someone and had him train you as his replacement? WHat!? Of course he wouldn't train you right....unless I am mis-reading this...
Sounds like a typical small company. In my own experience, small companies do things half-a$$ed a lot of times.
If you are unhappy, I know you haven't been there long but start looking. The same exact thing happened to me - it took me a good 6 months to find something but it was so worth it. I work for a huge company now that has actual guidelines, rules and respect for their employees. When I interviewed with my (now) boss, she asked why I was leaving after only 6 months. And I told her quite honestly that I knew that I was capable of much more and that they mislead me when they hired me.

Re: I am so miserable at work.
im sorry you're going thru this.
i started my new job on the same day you started yours (i remember your post when you announced you had accepted a position). and a month and a half later i feel like i wanna start the job search again myself. im not in the same situation as you though, actually quite the opposite. i find that im UNDER worked and im paranoid that they may think they dont need me and i'll be out of a job. the work they have me doing is quite boring at times and my boss can sometimes be like the woman in The Devil Wears Prada lol, but i have no choice but to stick it out. i look on occasion to see if anything interesting comes up but i would feel horrible if i left without giving it at least a few months to get a "real" feel for the job.
perhaps you should do the same. maybe sit down with the CFO and address your concerns with him. explain that this is not what you signed up for and that he needs to be more patient as their is a learning curve with all new positions.

I know glassware/crystal really well and textiles but not apparel. Thank you though! If you see anything, please let me know!
... Fortunoff is looking for an Asst Buyer for glassware & crystal but it sounds as though that position would be too low for you. If I see something in my search, I will let you know.
