How many of you decided against the Ultrascreen?
We decided against it and wondering how many others chose not to have it done.

I didn't do it-I personally didn't want to be faced with the stress of a false positive.

Only did the Level II. Also didn't want to deal with the false positive....

Re: How many of you decided against the Ultrascreen?
i decided to do the ultrascreen and AFP because 1. my age, and 2. just wanting the info. had either come back questionable, i would have had the amnio. aware of the false positives, i was willing to take the chance. luckily so far, so good!

Re: How many of you decided against the Ultrascreen?
I didn't do the ultrascreen or the AFP test because in the end if it came back abnormal 1-I wouldn't get an amnio 2-I wouldn't terminate the PG 3-I didn't want to deal with the added stress if something came back abnormal since I wouldn't do 1& 2 and spend the rest of my pg worrying.
So we decided since I am only 29, DH is 24 there are no birth defects in our families, and we are am both very healthy we will take our chances on what g*d gives us. he will not give us anything we can't handle.
It's really such a personal decision, do your research, ask the dr lots of questions, make sure before you opt for the test talk about how far you will go if it something comes back abnormal.

This is exactly why we aren't going to do it either.

Re: How many of you decided against the Ultrascreen?
I remember my doctor giving me good advice about this topic. He ask would I do anything with the information I got back from the test? I said no, so he told me there was no reason to take the tests
