Classroom Mailboxes

I really want to buy a set of those wooden mailboxes but I cannot bring myself to do it. Do you think they are worth it? LL Weans has the nice wooden mailboxes for $350 with 10% off. I just do not know if I just buy the wooden ones or the cardboard type. Any ideaS?

Re: Classroom Mailboxes

There is a teacher in my building who makes them out of milk or juice cartons and they are GREAT! She basically brought in and had the kids bring in the cartons from 1/2 gallons of juice or milk. washed them, let them dry and then stapled them together. They were bigger than any mailboxes I have ever seen in a store and I want to do this in Sept.

Re: Classroom Mailboxes

i wouldn't spend that much on them honestly. $350 is a lot. i woudl buy the cardboard ones or find a cheaper alternative you can make.

I just rename each slot for a new kid each year

eta: they were about $30 each and easy to put together

Re: Classroom Mailboxes

I have ones like the office depot ones above except they are all metal. I got them at Staples a few years ago for $60-70 and they have stood up great. The year before, I had bought the cardboard ones, but they fell apart after the first year- it's worth investing money into, but $300 is a big chunk of change!
