when should u worry?

Just wondering, how long should you continue to try before asking why you are not preggo? We were married in July and probably officially started trying in september. I am just not sure I understand what is going on if I can predict ovulation time and have been trying for a while. I understand that others have been trying for longer but at what time do you go and make sure everything is okay?

My OB / GYN and my GP both told me that if we didn't conceive within a year, that I should come back so we can explore the issue. Lots of baby dust!

well it sounds like your on month 4...I know my obgyn feels after 1 year 80% of people who ttc will....

so most drs recommend waiting one year.

Ditto. Unless you are over 35, then I think that they say 6 months.

My obgyn said it could take up to a year for about 90% of couples.
When I went to that appt. we were just starting, and I thought, HA it wont take me that long!
Well, that apt was back in October and we are STILL TTC!
We actually started in Aug.
Hopefully I will get my BFP before than.

I think it depends.

If your cycles are normal and you are ovulating, then I would wait a year.

However, if you are not ovulating or your cycles are all over the place, I would go in after 6 months.

I started to worry after 1 year - summer 2005. Went to see an RE in the fall.

My OB/GYN told us to go back to her after six months. That's because i'm over 35.

My ob/gyn said after 6 months (with at least 3 using a fertility monitor). I'm 33 with prior lap surgery for endo. However 2 of my friends that are younger with no known previous problems were told 1 year.

We used OPK, I did BBT, and tried every little tip, trick or method that had been suggested. After 2 years of trying and no end result I got very nervous (it made no sense to me, why a healthy 24 year old women couldn't get preggo). I went to a fertility specialist and they asked all the routine quesions and did and u/s to see if I had scar tissue ( I have endometriosis). Nothing was found so they sent me for a HSG (I think that what it was called). During this procedure they take a dye and flush your tubes out (to make sure nothing is blocking them). One month later I was preggo.

I just figured I would tell you my story because I also began to worry when I didn't get preggo for a while. My Dr. also told me that they usually won't do anything until after you try for at least a year. I wish you the best!

I think it depends on your doctor and also with you. I have PCOS so my doctor is only giving me 3 months to try on my own before she sends me to a specialist. So far it looks like we are going on month 4.
