BC Issues
I've been taking Loestrin24 for almost a month now. I"m down to the last 4 pills which are just the iron subsitute pills. Week one- was overly emotional and sappy up 2 lbs. week two-seemed sex drive was up still overly sappy didnt weigh myself week three-sex drive no longer was up and I had such moodswings. I admit to being a complete you know what for most of last week at any given time (this is not like me at all) up 8 lbs. now at week 4-still overly emotional and now have gained in total 11 lbs.
The one good thing it did make my periods a lot lighter, I could honestly have just gone with pantyliner for my period. WHere as before I've had heavy bleeding 7-10 day periods.
SO I dont know what to do. Light periods great, but the hormones out of whack are killing me. I'm afraid it will get worse. I just read up on side effects and it says you can have hair loss too and I"m
Would it be bad to go off of it? Sholud I continue to stay on it another few months. They say 3 months is usually what it takes for the body to adjust. I'm afraid the weight gain will continue and everything else and I'm just worried.
Any advice?

Re: BC Issues
youre right, they usually say it takes 3 months for your body to adjust to the pill. but what youre experiencing seems extreme. 11 pounds?? and to be moody all the time... cant be a good thing.
nuva ring did this to me. i ended up switching to Yaz. i have been on it for over year and its much better!!! lighter period, harldy any cramps, not too moody (not more than my regular mood swings LOL) no bloating and no weight gain. maybe look into it??!!
good for you for keeping a log btw.. this way when you go for a checkup you can tell your doc exactly what is going on and when!!

Re: BC Issues
I think calling your doctor was the right thing to do. Weight gain that extreme (13 pounds in a month) has got to be mostly water weight (which can't be comfortable at all)!
Good luck getting it sorted out. It can be frustrating finding a script that works best with your body.
