did i go overboard??
so- i'm having a bachelorette party at my house this weekend. we're having dinner here and then going to awesome 80s prom in the city. we decided on tacos for dinner. there are 6 of us that will be here. i bought 3 pounds of ground beef and about 20 taco shells ( 10 hard, 10 soft). i was figuring 2-3 tacos for each person, especially before a night of drinking... i just told one of the girls thats coming and shes like " wow! thats a lot of food!"... its not a big deal if we have leftovers, i'll just eat them for lunch one day... did i go overboard??

Re: did i go overboard??
No...I would have also figured 2-3 taco's per person and the great thing about tacos is that you can reheat well and make more tacos, taco salad or chili...

yup! thats what i told her, too- i'll just eat any leftovers for lunch... and i'd rather have too much food than not enough. lol but this is the same girl who was shocked when 6 of us ( 3 guys and 3 girls) went through 3 pounds of steak at her house for dinner one night. i think you have to figure at least a half pound of meat per person...

I don't think you overdid it. In fact, depending on appetites, it may be too little.

Re: did i go overboard??
i think 2 lbs of meat would have been enough since you dont put all that much meat into the tacos - consider freezing 1 lb of meat and only cooking 2 lbs
however the tacos are enough. though most people seem to like soft tacos so you may want to get more soft taco shells...but that is even pushing it.. make sure you get
shredded lettuce cheese sour cream salsa

Re: did i go overboard??
I think its fine.... if its too much you can always reheat it later.
Its always better to have extra than not enough

I don't think so . . . It is much better to have more than you need than exactly or not enough.

Re: did i go overboard??
I think that 2 pounds of meat will be plenty. Maybe have some fresh guacamole with chips to start?
