Getting a job in a hospital setting
ok so my husband is going to apply to nursing school. He is now taking the remaining prerequisites he needs this semester...
Anyway, in his current industry he works 5-6 days a week , over 65 hours
This definitely can't be done once he's in the nursing program...
so his friend offered him a part time online job in his industry that he's interested in taking and wants to find a 40-50 hours a week job in a hospital to gain hospital setting experience. We know his pay cut will be significant that's why hes only thinking of doing it since he'll also be doing the online gig...
Anyway what jobs can he apply for as nursing support?
possibly transporter?
My mom's an RN and I should ask her but she just went away today for the week with my dad and I don't want to bother her till she gets back.So now I'm just being curious and anxious bc I'd like to mail out his resume to hospitals and possibly meet with recruiters this week.

He should look at the websites of all the local hospitals - there are unit clerk jobs, medical secretary, etc. Most of them post them on their site.

I work as a physical therapy aide dealing with in patient rehab. I love it and I'm able to gain a lot of experience. FM me if you have any questions!

They can possibly train him right away as a unit secratery and after the first semester of nursing school he can take the test to become a certified nurisng assisstant. Both positions are great experience. I worked as a nursing assistant before I became a nurse. And I needed to learn the computer better and placing orders. So both are great opportunities.
Any position with also help finiancially. Many hospitals offer tuition reimbursement.

good for him! my DH and I are both nurses and it's a great career for men. I would suggest a nursing assistant. it's very hard work but it'll get him the closest to the patients!

Many hospitals would be willing to train him as a nurse's aide once they know he is a nursing student. He could also get tuition reimbursement.
