Safety Gear!
So the other day I got on a kick that I have to be safer now that it's dark when I run in the morning.
So today I received all my safety goodies! A reflection vest, light bug that flashes, runners fog that is like mace and straps to your hand and my shoe ID that has my emergency contact numbers.
Anyone running in the dark should consider some of these items and the shoe ID should be a must for all.

Re: Safety Gear!
I'd get some of this stuff for my husband, but he'd probably scoff at me.
I was just thinking about that today though, b/c I like running home from work at night and it'll be getting dark...I don't have a road ID but I carry my health insurance cards with me.
I feel like I have to get into more of a routine before I spend more money on running "supplies".

Re: Safety Gear!
I don't run in the dark but that all sounds like such a great idea. I gotta say I love receiving any kind of of my running "toys" in the mail

Re: Safety Gear!
I have the shoe id (I actually have one for DH too and it is actually a dog tag that I laced in the shoe laces).
I also got us the vest with a reflector strip as well as a red light that can flash, strobe or be solid.
I reallllllly want the snap bracelets that are day glo and can be seen a mile away.

Re: Safety Gear!
that sounds great! I know I'm petrified to run in the dark ever since a women jogger was raped (killed?) in patchogue in the early morning in winter10+ years ago...I just can't do it...maybe mace would make me feel better?
