When is it safe to give birth
a good friend of ours is pregnant with twins. she's due to have a c-section right before christmas. she was just in the hospital with mild contractions. they monitored her and everything is okay. if the babies should come before december, when would it be safe to have them. we know they had trouble conceived so we want everything to be ok.

the doctor had told me if they are born at 28 weeks they have a 95% chance of survival, but its a long journey. after 32 weeks, not such a bad thing and after 35 weeks, its all systems go!

The Dr's wanted me to make it to 29 weeks. Once I made it to 28 they wanted me to make it to 30. At 30 then 32.

Viability goes up from about 24 weeks to 28 weeks...(although some babies have survived younger). When I was preggo with my second set of twins our first hurdle was 25 weeks...then 28 weeks...then 32...

My dr. told me that babies did very well at 34 weeks.
