Please please please do not give it a second thought to the notion that people think that you should just "get over it already". Who the hell cares what people think!! Until they have walked a mile in your shoes they cannot judge. You are handling the best you can right now. Its completely understandable that Oct is going to be difficult for you and anyone who doesnt understand that can go to he!! You'll get through this...I promise

Re: anyone else taking a break?
Deanna, don't ever put pressure on yourself to "get over it". You will never ever truly feel over it, a piece of it will always stay with you, it's impossible to completely let it go. I don't mean that to be a downer! There will be better days and ok days and days that stink.
I had been having better days and today I am having one that totally stinks as far as "getting over it". I am so NOT over it today.
You will get to a peaceful place, I promise.

Re: anyone else taking a break?
I took a 9 month break from my second miscarriage. Doctor told me to wait 3 cycles. I wasn't ready mentally. I could handled a successful pregnancy, but not another failed one.
It was definately the right decision for me. We are trying again & i'm excited. i'm also in a good place regarding the miscarriages. I'm over it and only think about it occasionally.
you're young, take a break for a couple months. You could enjoy the holidays and start fresh in the new year? If it happens during your break..great!!

i give you alot of credit for waiting that long... i wish i had the willpower..
so yea october will be hard... but at least i can celebrate my birthday ... then after this month is over.. i just have a feeling that i will have a little bit more closure.. i hate constantly thinking in my head which week i "should" be in.. or how long i have left... etc..

You will DEFINATELY be in a better place aftre this month ends. Atleast I was. it's closure.
I planned on waiting 6 months, but then things came up or I wasn't ready, felt nervous/anxious. DH actually originally said we should take a break because he felt 2 miscarriages in 4 months was alot on my body. He told me to tell him when i was ready and he never mentioned it again. He looked so happy when I told him recently I was ready

I completely agree with this. You need to be in a good place physically...but much more important- mentally. I took long breaks and every other month breaks because month after month of failure will hurt you. You need to be okay with what happened, and not want to cry about it all the time. And that WILL happen- I promise you. It took me about a year, also, and yes- sometimes I get sad and cry a little, but i've come to terms with it. If you haven't or can't yet, then IMO- you SHOULD take a break for a couple of months. Go to the doctor- get your preliminary testing done, exercise, eat healthy. By the end of 2 or 3 months you will feel better, and hopefully have a different outlook.
This is how I healed- I am not saying it to be mean, but to be helpful.

Re: anyone else taking a break?
I'm not taking a break- I haven't even gotten to start TTC after my m/c yet. I'm going to be taking a laid back approach for a few months, then get back into it again.

I just always hope you don't take my words the wrong way.
I know you will be fine- but it's sometimes hard to see that in the midst of it all. I think that BDing casually for a few months will do wonders for your emotional health- instead of obsessing over it. If nothing comes of that- then stat fresh in January- see an RE, just make the appointment soon so you have it in place already. Then just go with the flow and hope that you'll be able to cancel that appointment. The year will be over before you know it- and then we can all start fresh again.

i never take anything you say the wrong way.... you are a HUGE help to me.. i appreciate everything, and always want the truth and not what i want to hear
you know, i seem to be doing good on the TTC board as far as not obsessing... i tend to chat more i think,, and just answering the questions girls have.. so that right there is an accomplishment for me. .. as crazy as that sounds but i will be ok.. i know after seeing my doctor the end of the month will even help me... peace of mind also.. (i am seeing him for my abnormal cycles) then i am casually going to bring up the pregnancy issue.
but i completely agree with everything you are saying... and its probably what i need..

I think this is a great idea! 3 months probably sounds like forever to take off, but believe it or not it goes fast. especially when you aren't living it in 2 week increments. And TTC is all about BDing, which you would still be doing. Just on your own schedule.
During my break we did things for us. Bought an inground pool and enjoyed the summer. I started weight watchers and going to the gym, I've lost 16 lbs since my miscarriage!!! Just in time for my vacation . We have one last trip to aruba next week and then the 9 months of US is over.
I just wanted to share with you what worked for me. I'm not saying you should definately take a break, just sharing my experiences.
Good Luck Hon!

Re: anyone else taking a break?
My situation is a little different b/c we have to do IVF to get pg. I waited a couple of months after the m/c before we tried again. We failed in June and I needed another break.
Now that October is here, bad month for me too, I need to be proactive and keep busy. So, I called my RE's office today to get the ball rolling. I will start my BCP's this month and do another cycle in November!
For me and my situation, I can't be at the day and not have something happening. My break is over.
We'll all get through this together. It sounds like a lot of us were due in October.
