UFT - no one has told me (new teacher) ANYTHING.

We haven't had a meeting at all.

I have no idea what I can use the union for.

My UFT rep is essentially waiting to retire and doesn't care.

I had to find all of the paperwork myself...through searching online. Which I did on my own...he didn't even tell us where/how tro find the forms. Oh, and I had no idea WHAT the UFT Welfare Fund was.

GRRRRRRRRR. I'm so annoyed and feel so out of the loop. People have spoken to him, but nothing has been done.

I'm getting money taken out of my paycheck for something I know NOTHING about.

What can I do?

All health insurance stuff is through your payroll secretary, too, if you need anything.

Honestly, you are probably better off calling the UFT hotline.

yeah it stinks if you have a bad union rep.
I suggest talking to some of the senior teachers in your school. I'm sure they have lots of info they can share with you. And the uft website of course as well.

Whatever borough you are in call the that UFT office you can find it on

www.uft.org

You should NOT have to find this info out yourself that is BS!

That is really frustrating. I agree with Kathleen - I would call the office.

i hate the UFT. ive been teaching for five years and all i know is theyve been taking 90 bucks from me per month!
