** I LOVE MY JOB ... anyone else?
Both my husband and I are teachers and we seriously would not change our jobs for the world. We have the funniest, craziest, heartbreaking, heartwarming stories to share each day we come home from work!
Im a special education teacher for the city and although Im literally emotionally drained at the end of the day, Im grateful that I have such a rewarding and emotionally gratifying job. Hell, with the economy the way it is, Im happy to get paid for doing what I love. Honestly, if someone said, "I'll pay you a million dollars to give up teaching" I'd prob. take it because it seems so appealing. But, I would never get the same happiness from that money as I do from the wacky kids I teach every day.
Anyone else care to share ???

I don't want to be a Debbie Downer but this is my 11th year not including subbing and I'm really really tired. I used to have that same enthusiasm and love for the job.... Now I still do my job but I look forward to the weekend all week long.
I guess it also depends on where you work -- my current administrator sucks the joy out of life.

I love everything about the job (except the endless paperwork -- can't love that). I walk in the door in the morning, and no matter how tired I might be, when I see the kids, I just wake up. They make the days fly by (as much as the weeks might seem to drag), and knowing I am making a difference in their lives is one of the most rewarding things I could ever have imagined. And when I know I'm *that* teacher for them -- that they trust me and work hard for ME -- then I know I'm in the right place.
Nine years and still loving every second.

I wish I could say the same. I guess you'd have to work in my school to understand why no one is happy and people are leaving in droves.

In my opinion, the job has its good days and it's bad days.
I'd get way more enjoyment out of spending a million dollars than I would in the classroom

Absolutely love it! I hope I'll always feel this way. I didn't love it when I was depressed though...went through a really bad period. I worry that I'll feel that way when I have to return to work after having a baby. I  I get my passion for it back!!! And much more quickly than I did last time!

I love it when I actually get to do it. Getting pulled out of the classroom for useless training and drowning in paperwork has made it less fun for me.

So far, this year, my class has been hard, but when I get called mom or I'm told "I love you!", it really makes it such a satisfying job.

I'm so happy to see how many of you love it.. that's great!
For me it's okay.. for me it's more of a "job" than a passion though unfortunately. I have my good days & my bad days, but being totally honest here I'm kinda burned out & tired.

I love my students and most of my colleagues. We have a great school community and just a few bad pieces I'd like removed!
I'm more than happy with my career choice and could see myself doing this for a long long time!

I wish I did...but classroom teaching is not exactly what I thought it would be.
Let's put it this way: I'm out on disability with this back injury, which is EXTREMELY painful 24 hours a day. Yet, I think about how if I weren't injured, I'd be working every day. And I honestly can't say which scenario would be worse.. 
I just hate all the stress that comes with it. If they'd just let me TEACH, I think I would love my job.

this year i can honestly say i LOVE it! the past few years not so much but this year im teaching kindergarten and all of my kids look up to me and love everything we do and its so nice!

with all the craziness this year - i wasn't so sure, but i loved working w/my 1st graders in NYC and I am ecstatic to be back in K now that I've been hired on the island. I know that the administration can make or break the situation and from what I can see thus far, my new admin will be very supportive!
I'll update in a month lol

I love it. I honestly love every minute I am in the classroom. i teach children with autism and I thrive on the challenging behaviors. My children have come so far already and I cannot wait to see where they are in june!

I have a tough class this year...don't want to get too specific. It's the city and it's not easy. Could be worse could be better. Just glad that I have a job, I am making money and I have my 30 and above
