NYC Leave question

I was excessed at the end of last year and am working in my school as an ATR, I am miserable.. because all I'm doing is subbing. Can I take a year leave or do I have to be tenured. This will only be my second year in the city. If so can you take a leave and work in public school somewhere else?

I'm really sorry you're going through this. I think ATRs are treated so poorly. I don't know if you have to be tenured to qualified for a leave, but I do know that while you are on leave, you can only sub 10 days per month as far as working for the DOE. The UFT website has a lot of info on leaves. I think the DOE website does to. Good luck!
