Genetic results showed Trisomy 22
After my D&C the pathology showed that everything was fine. The genetics just came back and showed the baby had Trisomy 22.
I've decided not to Google it because I don't want to read much about it. I know it can be a severe abnormality, it is rare, and most babies with it don't make it to full term.
I asked if we should seek genetic counseling and my Dr. said we could go get blood tests just to make sure we don't have any chromosomal abnormalities. The fact that we have already had a healthy full term pregnancy leads her to believe we don't. She said it is not necessary but it would button things up so we decided to go do it.
I guess it's kind of a relief to know why this happened. Now I look forward to getting the test done so we can put it all behind us.

It really can't hurt to have the test done. Plus, if the results come back normal it will put your mind at ease with future pregnancies. Good luck!

We just had our genetic tests done yesterday, well our conseling after having a chrmosone problem with our baby girl too..and really nothing much else was answered, but we went ahead with the tests anyway.
I hope you feel ok with havign some results and answers.

I had trisomy 16 (?) I think.
I don't know if you saw Oprah the other day, the baby on there lived for 99 days. He was born with Trisomy 18. It was sooo sad. They had to feed him from a feeding tub every 3 hours and it look 1.5 hours to feed him.
I'm sorry for your loss. It's good you got some answers.

not to get off the subject but you say that your Pathology report came back that nothing is wrong and then genetic testing said something different.
What is the difference between a pathology report and genetic testing? Isn't genetic testing included in the pathology report?

I just had a blood test for Genetic testing done about 2 weeks ago. How longs does it usually take for the results to come back?? My doctor said about a month, it's killing me!!

it can sometimes take 3-4 weeks for the reports to come back.

I got the pathology back in 9 days and the genetics results back in 30 days.
