So angry....
I teach college courses, so I don't hang out on this board too often.
I had my first case of plagiarism, in which a grad student submitted a paper that was 1/2 copied directly from a website. I brought her up on academic integrity charges, and gave her a zero for the assignment. If she didn't contest the charges, she would get a zero for the assignment, but there would be no other penalty, and no notation on the transcript.
She is now fighting the charges, saying that since she wrote half the paper herself, she deserves at least half credit for the paper!!!! It just boggles my mind that I now have to waste my time going to a hearing to listen to her saying that she deserves credit for this paper!  Sometimes I get so frustrated...You think she'd just take the zero and run.

Wow! What balls! If I were her I wouldn't be able to look you in the eye.
So stupid, too, for anyone to plagiarize anymore. The 'net makes it so much easier to get caught. My DH has busted kids without too much effort on his part.

UNbelievable!!!!! she has a real attitude problem to even THINK of contesting this at a hearing to get half-credit. she deserves a zero, in fact, she really deserves a zero for the course. i can't believe that this STILL goes on in graduate school...real mature.

OMG!!!! I would tell her that unfortunately the half that she wrote was terrible and she received a zero on that portion as well.
I am such a freak about plagirizing. It's unfair!
